Art runs in my family. My grandfather on my father's side was a painter. I often watched him prepare canvases for his oil paintings. From the age of ten I attended Nikolaev's School of Arts (in Ukraine) in addition to my regular school. All of my free time was spent paining and drawing either at home, at the art school, or at the library across the street where art club was held. After two years in art school my studies there came to an end when my family moved to the U.S.
Once in U.S. I continued painting at home and completed an AP portfolio my senior year in high school. My concentration was people's faces. Some of the art work from my AP portfolio is under my Design tab.
I obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of Texas at Dallas. For my electives at UTD I took classes such as Intro to 3D animation, Computer Graphics, and Computer Animation. I learned how to use Photoshop CS, Apple computers, Maya, and how to write code to do all that (I was a CS major after all :) This was a very valuable experience after which I decided that I wanted to, for the most part, create art using my own hands. This way I can really feel my art work.
My first dance experience started after college at the Power House of Dance. There I took hip hop for three years with Gino Johnson. It was a wonderful experience where I got to learn how to control my body and make it dance. However, I have always wanted to take Latin Ballroom and had a hard time finding a studio in Dallas to take lessons at. In the meantime I took salsa classes for about half a year at Telos fitness center with Sergey and Michelle. Then I found Dance With Me studio in Plano and my first International Latin Ballroom lessons began. Eight months later Studio 22 opened near my home, offering a wide variety of classes in many styles, including International Latin Ballroom. At Studio 22 I've trained under Sergey Korshunov, Michelle Hafle, Arkadiy Polezhaev, Natalja Panina, Veronika Chernyavska, Ryan Lewis, and Natalia Fridmanovich. Some other dancers I've trained under are Jairelbhi Furlong, George Furlong, Vibeke Toft, Allan Tornsberg, and Collins James.

In the fall of 2009 I tried yoga for the first time at the Gaia Flow Yoga studio in Addison Circle. Yoga is quite an experience. Aside from the fact that yoga is great for the body physically it also calms the mind and has a soothing effect on the soul and emotional plane. I fell in love with it and became a certified yoga teacher with Gaia Flow Yoga. Now I teach every Thursday at Gaia Flow Yoga in Addison and sub for other classes at the studio. I also give private yoga lessons to clients. It is amazing how quickly people notice the difference just after a few lessons.
